Bhubaneswar: Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and Odisha in-charge Jagdish Tytler is scheduled to arrive here on a two-day visit to state on Thursday.

Within a span of one month after he was assigned with the additional responsibility to oversee Odisha affairs, this is his fourth visit to the state.

Tytler, who has been stressing on strengthening party’s organization, would hold series of meetings with Youth Congress members, Mahila Congress, Congress legislators and office bearers.

It may be recalled that Tytler’s visits were embroiled in controversies. The ruling members had questioned his religion after he visited the famous Jagannath temple in Puri. The members alleged that Tytler had converted to Christianity whereas the Congress members maintained that he was a Sikh.

On another occasion, BJD members raised objections in the state Assembly as Tytler attended Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at a committee room in the Assembly premises. The members contested that as Tytler is not a member of Odisha Assembly, he can not use committee room of the Odisha Assembly meant for MLAs.
