Berhampur: Two more persons were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of K Ganesh Reddy, a final year college student, who was later rescued by the police, taking the total number of arrests in the case to nine.

Police said today Krushna Pandi, an auto-rickshaw driver and Ananga Panda, the former sales representative of a private mobile company, were arrested recently while two key auccused were still on the run.

Ganesh, a final year student of Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) of Khallikote Autonomous College was abducted at gun-point while going to Salia dam on April 27. His abductors demanded Rs 10 lakh ransom from his builder father K. Mohan Rao of Berhampur, said inspector in charge (Town police) S.S.Mohapatra.

Ganesh was rescued from Tamanaghati near here three days after the incident. Earlier, seven persons including one of Ganesh`s friends, had been arrested and the vehicle used for the crime seized and the driver rounded up. "We have identified the key persons and making all efforts to arrest the masterminds", police said.
