Two killed over ‘witchcraft’ suspicion in Mayurbhanj; one injured

Mayurbhanj: Two women were brutally hacked to death over suspicion of practising witchcraft at Madhupur village under Rairangpur police limits in the district here today.

Both the women were killed by one Shyam Bashker who later surrendered before police after committing the crime.

Police sources said the accused confessed to have killed the two women with a sharp axe. Meanwhile, another woman has been injured in the attack by the accused.

Sources said accused Bashker’s wife was unable to conceive a baby since long and he blamed both the women for resorting to some black magic. He was searching for an opportunity to take revenge.
