Two injured in series of road mishaps in Balasore

Balasore: Two persons sustained critical injures while some police personnel escaped unhurt in two separate road mishaps near Dahisada Chapolia Chhak on NH-16 in Soro of Balasore district in the wee hours of Saturday.

According to reports, the two injured were travelling in a car which is suspected to have overturned after being hit by unidentified vehicle. The mishap occurred at around 3 am today. The injured were initially rushed to Soro hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital after their condition deteriorated, sources said.

On getting information, police rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. As the cops were busy in the rescue operation, a speeding truck reportedly hit the police van. A major tragedy was averted as no cops were in the police van.

In another incident, a truck collided with another truck parked in front of Soro police station. Though no one was hurt in the mishap, both the vehicles were severely damaged.
