Dhenkanal: At least two persons including one student were injured in a bombing incident at Kamakhyanagar college in Dhenkanal today.

The incident took place around 11:00 am when a college student along with five outsiders brandished guns allegedly hurled bombs at  Sangram Nayak and Sanjeeb Nayak.

Sanjeeb had come to the college to drop Sangram, who is a student of the same college.

Subsequently, both the injured were admitted into the Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital. Later, the injured student alleged that it was an attempt to kidnap them.

Police suspect that the incident could be the fall out of rivalry ahead of the students' union election. However, the college principal stated that the exact reason can be ascertained only after a detailed probe.

“We are not sure who is behind the incident. But the truth will come out once the investigation is over,” principal of Kamakhyanagar college, Arabindakant Rai, said.
