Two including minor boy injured in firecracker explosion in Dhenkanal

At least two people sustained critical injuries in a firecracker explosion at Jiral under Kamakhyanagar police station in Dhenkanal district on Saturday.

The duo has been identified as Vijay Khuntia and his 12-year-old nephew, Ruturaj Khuntia. 

Relatives informed that Ruturaj sustained severe burns on his hand, and both were immediately shifted to Cuttack for advanced medical care, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that the accident occurred due to negligence while igniting multiple firecrackers simultaneously. 

It is believed that an unexpected explosion triggered a chain reaction, causing serious injuries to the duo.

The mishap has left the local community shocked and serves as a reminder of the dangers of handling firecrackers carelessly.
