School headmistress Malati Behera has not yet issued any official response regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO) reached the school upon receiving the report and has initiated an inquiry.

Officials stated that efforts are underway to locate the students as quickly as possible and that all necessary steps are being taken.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage has come to light in connection with the incident. Udala BEO also reached the school and checked the footage, which shows that after classes ended, the two girl students did not go to their hostel room at night. Instead, they were seen standing together at one place. After that, there has been no trace of them.

As the students were not seen leaving through the main school gate, it is suspected that they may have climbed over the boundary wall.

It has also emerged that due to negligence in duty, the hostel warden and the headmistress in charge of supervision failed to notice the incident, leading to this situation.

The BEO has stated that if negligence in duty is confirmed, immediate action will be taken.

“CCTV installed in the hostel premises is not clearly visible. What has been guessed is that the girls were last seen in the footage at around 8.00-8.30 PM. Another CCTV installed at the main gate has not captured their movements,” Udala BEO, Deepak Kumar Mishra, said.

“It seems the girls have not exited through the main gate. We suspect that they might have gone through some other passage,” the BEO expressed.
