Two ashram school children rescued in Rayagada
Rayagada: Two children staying in Anwesha Ashram school hostel at Gunupur were rescued near Mahakal Kudia village in Rayagada today.
According to sources, the two children were reportedly found walking on the street by some locals in near Mahakal Kudia village, around 15 kilometers from the hostel. The villagers questioned the children about their address and later informed the Block welfare extension officer.
Later, the two children were rescued and taken back by the hostel authorities, sources added.
“We spotted the two children and informed the welfare extension officer. Later the Anwesha Ashram authorities were informed about the children,” said Krushna Gamanga, a local resident.
Anwesha Ashram school hostel Coordinator, Juleswara Mishra said “The school was closed today and all the children had their meals. Later, I received a call that two children of the school were found near Mahakal Kudia village. We rescued them and brought them back to hostel.”
