Two arrested for attacking Saheed Nagar Police
Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today arrested two persons in connection with the vandalism at Saheed Nagar Police Station and attack on police officials on Sunday night. Sources informed that police have constituted independent teams, which are conducting raids at various places in the city to nab the other accused in the incident.
Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said that strict action will be taken against all persons involved in vandalizing the police station.
“Multiple police teams have been formed which are conducting raids at various places to arrest the accused persons. Two persons who are key accused in the incident have been arrested and efforts are on to nab the other accused persons,” he added.
Four police personnel including the IIC and ASI of Saheed Nagar Police Station sustained injuries after they were allegedly attacked by a group of miscreants late on Sunday night. The miscreants had gone to the police station to lodge a complaint regarding a car and bike accident, but instead, they started beating up the on-duty police personnel and also vandalised the station.
