Two arrested by GRP in Berhampur

Berhampur: Two persons were arrested by government railway police (GRP) in connection with the loot of cash from the railway ticket reservation counter in Berhampur railway station recently.
 
The accused persons, arrested yesterday, were identified as Chitta Ranjan Sahu of Chanchada padia street and Srikanta Panigrahi of Govinda Nagar area in the town.
 
Police recovered cash around Rs 59,500 from duo. They were working as brokers of railway ticket booking in a private agency, police said.
 
Two others also involved in the incident. We have identified them and they will be be nabbed soon, police said.
 
Miscreants had allegedly looted about Rs 4.76 lakh from the railway ticket booking counter at the railway station on July 14 night. They broke open the locker in the counter and took away the cash collected from railway ticket booking.
