Rourkela: At least 12 persons, including six women and three children were affected by diarrhoea and admitted to Rourkela General Hospital (RGH) here.

An official source said the affected persons from three villages - Jhunmur, Kadobahal and Budikudur - under Kunarmunda block were admitted to the hospital on Thursday when they complained of loose motion, vomitting and mild fever for the last two days.

A medical team from Rourkela along with medicines rushed to the affected village today and door to door health check up was being conducted.

Dr Dhiren Kumar Das, in-charge of Kunarmunda CHC said people in these remote village were suffering from waterborne diseases specially during rainy season due to lack of clean drinking water. People were advised to drink boiled water and keep their surroundings clean.
