Joda: The trucks and tippers’ associations in Keonjhar district withdrew their strike yesterday following a discussion with collector N. Tirumala Nayak and SP Kabita Jalan.

Source said the truck owners agreed in the meeting to continue mineral transport at the previous price.

Notably, 16 truck and tipper owners’ associations operating in Koida and Joda mining circles of Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts had launched an indefinite strike on July 20 over freight rates.

Yesterday, the State government had imposed the Odisha Essential Services (Maintenance) Act or ESMA for six months on the strike while terming it illegal.
