Truck falls off bridge into IB River in Odisha

In an unfortunate incident, a truck fell into the Ib River after losing balance on the Bhasma-Remanda Bridge in Sundargarh on Monday.

As per the latest reports, the vehicle was floating on the river. However, no information about the truck driver was available at the time.

Upon being informed, Bhasma Police and Fire Department personnel reached the site, and they are attempting to recover the truck from the river. 

Since the truck overturned, it is not yet known whether it was carrying any cargo.

As per eyewitnesses, the vehicle was moving in a great speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle on the Bhasma-Remanda bridge, and it fell into the Ib River. According to the eyewitnesses, the driver jumped from the vehicle while it was falling into the river.

Earlier in August this year, a coal-laden trailer truck was swept away by floodwater at the Sahajbahal area under the Bargaon police station in Sundargarh.

The vehicle overturned in the Jhantalbud canal while attempting to cross a bridge submerged by the overflowing water. The vehicle was trying to pass over the bridge when it was caught in the strong flow and was carried away.
