Tribal women attack illicit liquor distillery
"Several times we demanded to stop the sale of liquor in our village. But it did not help much. Officials get hefty cuts from the liquor traders and turn a blind eye to all the illegal activities," Jamuna Naik, a village woman, said.
"If anyone dies after drinking illicit liquor then the family will be ruined. So, we decided to attack the distillery and have warned all the liquor traders of the area not to sale liquor," she said. "I will inquire into the matter and action will be taken to ensure that illicit liquor is not sold at the village," sub-collector Jeypore Birendra Korkora said.
