Rayagada: Train services were disrupted in Rayagada and Koraput districts today after the overhead electric wires between Bhalumuska-Liliguma railway lines snapped this morning.

As per latest reports, train services have resumed following restoration work.

Earlier, restoration process was underway to resume movement of several trains halted at different places of the district.

While Vishakapatnam-Koraput DEMU was halted at the Tikiri station, Rourkela Express was halted at Bhalumuska soon after the incident.

Hirakhand Express, which was on its way to Bhubaneswar, was halted at Sikarapai, sources said.

According to sources, the incident took place in the morning between 7 am and 7:30 am.

“A team of technicians has reached the spot and started the repair work. Train services are expected to resume as soon as the repair work ends,” an official had said.
