‘Trahi Achyut ashram’ loses tourism tag

Bhubaneswar: The Tourism department of Odisha government today withdrew the tourism status from the ‘Trahi Achyut ashram’ after the arrest of its head Surendra Mishra, known as Sura Baba.

Sources said the Tourism department today dropped ‘Trahi Achyut ashram’ from its official website.

Notably, the ashram, spread over 20 acres, was witnessing visits of nearly 1,000 people every day till recently. The key attractions of the ashram were five huge temples with architectural finesse, a tranquil waterbody and a toy train. Inflow of tourists nosedived after violence erupted at the ashram on August 30.
