Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has decided to open three more cyber police stations in Jeypore, Balasore and Bhubaneswar to deal with increasing cyber crime cases in the State. Currently, the State has four cyber stations in Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela and Sambalpur.

"We are also planning to augment the infrastructure at the existing stations while increasing the number of trained officers manning these cells, informed DGP RP Sharma.

Meanwhile senior officials of the department are undergoing an intensive training on topics like social media monitoring, suspect tracking, cyber overt, covert operations, anonymity and breaking anonymity and identification of malware signature in a two day workshop that will conclude today.

A total of 70 officers from the rank of SP to SI from all over the State attended the programme organised by the CID-Crime Branch.

“Cyber Crime is one of the most emerging field and we have to upgrade the skills of our officers to improve investigation skills for detection and prevention of Cyber Crimes,” said, Santosh Upadhayay, ADGP, CID-Crime Branch.

Among others, Arun Bothra, IG, CID-Crime; Ghanshyam Upadhyay, IGP Intelligence; Himanshu Lal, DIG, STF; Rajesh Pandit, SP CID CB and Satyajit Nayak, SP, STF are participating in the meet.
