Three killed, 2 injured by lightning in Bargarh

The victims were sitting in a temple on a hill top in their village when lightning struk them. It was also drizzling at that time.

The teenagers, hailing from Tora village were friends, and in the age group of 18-19 years, the police said.

The victims were identified as Belalsingh Harman, Indra Barik and Viki Chhatar and the injured were Giridhar Deep and Sudam Kalsa.

The injured were being treated at the district headqarters hospital here and their condition was critical, U C Tripathy, Chief District Medial Officer (CDMO), Bargarh said.

Hailstorm, accompanied by rains had lashed the district following which many trees were uprooted and thatched houses were damaged, the sources said.
