Kendrapara: A threat call was received by Kendrapara district Congress committee president Debendra Nath Sharma today and police have begun investigating to track the caller. The anonymous caller used abusive words over mobile phone and warned him of `dire consequences`, Kendrapara police station inspector Ranjan Kumar Dey said.

The matter is being investigated. Identity of the caller is being ascertained. It is being found out whether the call was a hoax or a real. The complainant has lodged an FIR in this connection, he said. When contcted Sharma said the caller had raised questions on the choice of party candidates for the zila parishad. Then all of a sudden he used objectionable words and threatened to end his life.
