Jajpur: As many as 13 Cobras were rescued from a house in Manpur village under Dangadi block of Jajpur today. According to sources, the snakes were spotted in one Shibaprasad Jena's house following which the family members informed the Forest Department and the Snake Helpline.

After getting information about the presence of snakes, a two-member Snake Helpline team along with the officials of Jajpur Road Forest Department reached the spot and rescued the snakes.

According to sources, one Cobra and her 12 hatchlings were rescued by the Snake Helpline team members, who informed that all the snakes will be released in the nearby forest.

"There was one Cobra and 13 hatchlings in the house.  After getting information we reached the spot and rescued all of them and they will be later released in the nearby forest," said Snake Helpline member Manibhadra.

Ranger of Jajpur Road, Debendra Patnaik said, "After we got information, we reached the spot and rescued all the snakes. We will release them in their natural habitat."
