Bhubaneswar: The former urban development minister and senior BJP leader today denied any kind of irregularities in the allotment of government land and buildings during his tenure in the BJD-BJP alliance government. Defending his role as a minister in the then government at a crowded press conference in the city, Kanak said that whatever he had done was perfectly under the rules and regulations.

A national TV news channel had shown that there was blatant abuse of the discretionary quota system in allotment of both land and buidings. The channel had shown that many IAS and IPS officers were the beneficiaries under the quota system during Kanak`s tenure. But the leader of the BJP legislature party has refuted all the charges and allegations raised by the media.
