Tension at Sun temple

Konark: Tension prevailed at the Sun Temple here on Monday as the ticket counter for tourists did not open in time.

After waiting in queue for hours to buy tickets, thousands of tourists rushed in to the temple as the booking counter delayed in opening. Though the temple opened on the scheduled time at 6 AM, the counter did not open for a long time. Attendants at the main gate could not control the crowd and sought help from other temple officials.

However, after being informed about the situation, the counter was opened by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) officials later.
