Temperature to shoot up from April 25 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience high temperatures in view of intense heat wave condition after April 25, informed the Regional Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar predicted today.

At present, the entire State is reeling under scorching heat and the mercury is rising with every passing day with Bhubaneswar recording the highest temperature of 43.7 degree Celsius on Tuesday.

However, the Met department today informed that mercury is likely witness a slight drop for next five days due to impact of thunderstorm activity.

The IMD forecast informed that though temperature will come down for the next couple of days under the influence of nor’wester rain, it will again rise after April 20 and will intensify from April 25.

“As many as eight places of the State recorded temperatures above 40 degree Celsius on Tuesday. However today, the mercury is likely to remain one to two notches lower and the temperature in Bhubaneswar may come down to 41 degrees Celsius,” said meteorologist Sudarsan Mishra.

Rainfall is likely to occur in one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sundergarh, Bhadrak, Malkangiri and Rayagada district under the influence of nor’wester. The influence of nor’wester will prevail for the next five days, added Mishra.
