Tehsildar, RI detained by locals in Sonepur

Sonepur: Locals detained the Tehsildar and RI who had gone to make an assessment of crops damaged by Chakada pest at Beheramal village in Dunguripali block of the district today.

According to sources, Tehsildar of S.Rampur, Panchanan Patra and RI of Beheramal had gone to the village to make an assessment of paddy crops damaged by Chakada pest. The villagers detained the duo demanding immediate release of compensation by the administration, sources said.

Reportedly, Sonepur Collector, Madhusudan Mishra had earlier visited the village for the assessment of the damaged crops and assured farmers of adequate compensation as soon as possible after holding discussions with them.
