Team India Manager gets rousing welcome on return

State Sports Minister Praveen Bhanja Deo extended warm greetings to Biswal as he achieved the distinction of being the only Odia to be a part of the winning World Cup squad.

OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera, School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena, friends and family members were also present at the airport to garland him. Besides, many admirers queued up at the airport’s arrival terminal waving the tricolor and dancing around to the tunes of drums. 

Then Biswal was guided in a procession till his residence here.

After the heroic welcome, Biswal drove to OTV headquarters where the former U-19 skipper was garlanded by the Chief Editor of OTV. He shared his memorable moments with staff here and also visited the newsroom before departing.

The gushing Biswal was evidently ecstatic as the winning moment still tops his mind.
