Take A Chill-Pill! Cold Wave Will Subside In Odisha, Predicts Met

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that the freezing cold wave conditions will abate as the night temperatures across the State is likely to rise by two to three degrees in the next two days.

Speaking to OTV, duty officer of Met Centre, Madan Mohan Das informed, “As per the latest report, the overall minimum temperature in several places of the State has slightly increased. Cold wave conditions will be witnessed in places like- Angul, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhamal and Nayagarh in the next 24 hours. However, night temperature in other places is expected to rise by two to three degree Celsius after 24 hours.”

There is no warning of fog and rainfall for the next five days, added Das.

On Sunday, as many as 11 stations including Daringbadi, Sonepur, Titlagarh, Phulbani, Koraput, Bhawanipatna, Talcher, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda and Angul witnessed temperature below 10 degree Celsius in the State on Sunday.

Sonepur and Phulbani remained the coldest places recording 6 degree Celsius followed by Angul (6.6 degree Celsius) and Titlagarh (7.1 degree Celsius). Similarly, the mercury touched 11.6 degree Celsius in Cuttack while Bhubaneswar recorded 11.4 degree Celsius.
