Cuttack/Puri: Lord Jagannath, ney, his property the Swargadwar-the most sacred crematorium in the state dominated court rooms both of the Odisha High Court and the SDJM court at Puri. While the high court today asked the parties involved in the Swargadwar land dispute to maintain status quo and asked the government to submit its report by next Wednesday, Jagannatn Sena, a social organisation from Puri filed a case against the revenue secretary to the state government, R K Sharma and alleged that he had misled the public by providing false documents in the sensational case relating to properties which belonged to the temple and Lord Jagannath.

The revenue secretary had previously told the media at a press conference in Bhubaneswar that there was no irregular dealing in the Swargadwar land and there was nothing wrong. No one knows who had asked R K Sharma to conduct the prress conference or he had done so on his own but the statement has landed the IAS officer up in trouble. A local resident of Puri, Kali Prasad had served a legal notice on Sharma on November 23 and demanded to furnish the truth within seven days from the time of serving the notice.

But R K Sharma failed to answer the legal notice and on the completion of a week the Jagannath Sena has dragged the revenue secretary to the court of the SDJM at Puri. The convener of Jagannath Sena, Priyadarshan Pattanaik said that the revenue secretary was misleading the people about a land to which crores of people are attached emotionally. It seems the battle will continue now in the court rooms.
