Supreme Court seeks report from Odisha govt on Ganjam highway crash by March 5

The Supreme Court has directed the Odisha government to submit a comprehensive report by March 5. The court has also instructed the authorities to take necessary measures to prevent such accidents in the future.

Additionally, the SC has asked the state government to submit a report outlining the proposed safety measures to the committee.

It is worth mentioning that on January 31, at least five people lost their lives after being hit by a truck in Ganjam.

According to reports, the accident occurred on a busy stretch of the highway. Several others were reportedly injured in the incident, and the mishap drew widespread public attention.

The committee is expected to review the findings of the state government and assess whether adequate preventive steps are being implemented.
