Suniel Shetty's appeal to Berhampur residents

Bhubaneswar: With more and more personalities coming out to promote 'Swachh Bharat Mission,' Bollywood actor Suneil Shetty was latest to join the bandwagon to promote sanitation and cleanliness in Berhampur city of Odisha.

The actor made an appeal to the people of Berhampur to keep the city clean.

The actor created a short video for the Berhampur residents in which he appealed them to keep their city clean and laid stress on use of toilets.

The authorities of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) also expressed gratitude to the actor for coming forward for the noble cause.

The actor's appeal is likely to play an important role in bringing a change in the mindset of people and assisting local administration to maintain all round sanitation, said experts.

The BeMC is working towards becoming defecation-free by December 2018. Recently, the corporation has also signed a memorandum of understanding for a new sewerage system.

Earlier, a number of celebrities including Shreyas Talpade and Remo D Souza had also came up with similar videos to promote use of toilets as part of the mission open-defecation free in Berhampur.
