‘Summer school’ to help tribal students spend vacations productively

Malkangiri: Youths of Chalanaguda panchayat in the district have come forward to start a free ‘summer school’ to help tribal children of the locality spend their summer vacations in fruitful manner.

The effort will help children to clear their doubts and finish studying course subjects well in advance.

Padma Padiami, a student, said, “We will be able to understand subjects better at schools as the centre in the village has already cleared our difficulties in the subjects.”

Expressing similar views Deepa Padiami, another student, stated, “Because of this school we are able to study and utilise the summer vacation better. Otherwise we would have spent our time in playing.”

The initiative is being lauded by the villagers who have come together to make provisions for food to the students.

“This initiative brings me immense satisfaction since there is no greater gift than education,” said Birendra Madhi, a teacher.
