Bhubaneswar: Eminent sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik has received an invitation to represent the country in the 40th International Snow Sculpture Contest scheduled to begin from February 3 at Sapporo in Japan.
 
"I have a plan to create a sculpture on World Peace. I will create snow sculpture of Lord Ganesh, widely revered as the lord of learning, wisdom and success and remover of obstacles," Pattnaik said.
 
The height of sculpture will be 3 metres and it will take four days to complete this sculpture. Two of his students Badal Tarai and Bulu Mohanty will assist the artist to crate this sculpture.
 
Pattnaik has already participated three times in 2002, 2007 and 2012 at Sapporo Snow Festival. In 2012 Sudarsan had created a sculpture on Climate change.
 
Representatives from countries like India, Indonesia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Taiwan, New Zealand, Hawaii, USA, Malaysia, Finland and Chile will represent the contest.
