Sudarsan to represent India in Copenhagen sand sculpture fest

Bhubaneswar: After winning the Choice Prize at World Sand Art Championship in Moscow, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has been selected as the Indian representative for an international event to be held in the Denmark capital from May 12.

As many as 17 countries, including India will be participating in the second edition of the nine-day festival, staring from May 12 in Copenhagen, a communique quoting Pattanaik said.

The participants will include those from Japan, Russia, Italy, Ireland, Czech Republic, Bulgeria, Ukraine, Spain, Canada, Holland, Ireland and Denmark.

Pattnaik said he will solely represent India at the festival, where he will carve a 15-feet high sculpture with a theme on environment.
