Rourkela: A senior Orissa Adsministrative Service cadre officer, posted as sub-collector, Rourkela was on Wednesday arrested by vigilance sleuths while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a businessman at his official residence here.

The vigilance DSP Prabin Kumar Das said the officer had demanded the money from the businessman to renew his lease contract to lift sand from Padampur balurghat site in river Brahamani on the outskirt of the city. The bribe amount was recovered from the officer.
