Students gearing up for upcoming campus polls

Bhubaneswar: Keeping-in-view the upcoming student union elections, Rama Devi University candidates have started classroom campaigning and have intensified their preparations along with their supporters.

Both Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) have announced their candidates for various posts of Rama Devi Univerisity students’ union.

ABVP has fielded Ipsita Tripathi as its presidential candidate, while Arpita Priyadarshini and Sucharita would contest elections as drama and athletics secretaries respectively.

From BCJD, Sweekruti Mishra will contest for the post of the president while Madhusmita Nayak will fight elections as general secretary.

“This year, we will focus on the issues faced by the undergraduate students. We will ensure opening up of new post-graduate departments so that students who pass out from the university can complete their post-graduation here itself,” BCJD presidential candidate, Sweekruti Mishra said.

ABVP presidential candidate, Ipsita Tripathi said “My aim is development of the university with support of all the students.”
