Student dies after falling from moving train

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a college student here died after falling down from a running train at Dhaulimunha railway station near Khurdha yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Soumendra Asribad Sahu, hails from Balipahada village in Cuttack district.

According to reports, the student boarded the Palsa-Paradip DMU train, and he fell down from the train at Dhalimuna station under mysterious conditions.

After this, the fellow passengers had taken him to Jatani railway station and asked the railway staff to arrange immediate treatment.

But, the injured student died due to delay in treatment, the passengers alleged.

Following this, local people staged a protest at Jatani railway station, halted train services for more than an hour demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
