Stray dogs injure 12 persons on Rourkela Steel Plant premises

Rourkela: As many as 12 persons were injured after being bitten by stray dogs inside Rourkela Steel Plant premises. The victims have been admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) for treatment.

As per reports, two stray dogs have been menacing people near the blast furnace and Kokoven department within the plant premises and they have bitten as many as 12 employees of the plant over the past couple of days.

One of the victims, Sushant Kumar Sethi said, "I was on my two-wheeler when the dog chased me from behind and bit me on my legs."

Though, the steel plant is a highly restricted area, presence of stray dogs on the premises has raised concerns among the employees. The steel plant employees have been living in fear over the past few days due to the canine menace.

Meanwhile, Rourkela Steel Plant authorities have constituted 3 squads to capture the dogs.
