Stranded Odia youth returns home after Jay Panda’s intervention
Bhubaneswar: An Odia youth of Khurda district who was stranded in Abu Dhabi united with his family following intervention of former Kendrapra MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda.
The youth, Santosh Kumar Swain, a native of Kalanga Paikasahi under Bolagada police limits today met Panda and thanked him for his assistance.
As per reports, Swain had gone to Abu Dhabi with the help of an agent to work in a private company nine months back. But later his family members alleged that he was denied payment and forced to stay in poor living condition.
After they sought Panda’s help for his repatriation, the former MP requested the Indian Ambassador to UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri seeking his intervention in the matter on October 1.
Meanwhile, after the youth returned, Panda also took to twitter and thanked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and the Indian Ambassador to UAE for helping the youth in getting back to Odisha.
