Stone pelting at Minister's car: Supporters block road demanding arrest of culprits

Keonjhar: Demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants involved in pelting stones at the vehicle of School & Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra on Sunday, supporters of the minister staged a road blockade near Jarda Chhak in Anandapur on NH-20 today.

As per reports, commuters faced difficulty while heavy vehicles remained stranded on both sides of the national highway for hours due to the road blockade.

However, the minister's supporters later withdrew the agitation and gheraoed the Ghasipura and Ghatagaon police stations demanding arrest of the culprits.

Sunday evening, a few unidentified miscreants allegedly pelted stones at the minister's Fortuner vehicle during an immersion procession of Ganesh idols in Belbahali.

Sources said some of his supporters had also blocked the road near Hasanpur tollgate immediately after the incident.

Meanwhile, the district administration has deployed police personnel to maintain law and order as palpable tension still prevails in the locality.
