Bhubaneswar: Cost of land for setting up of industries in state is likely to increase with the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee on Wednesday deciding to make it at par with the benchmark price of the area concerned, official sources said.

The SWCLC, headed by Chief Secretary B K Patnaik resolved to make certain changes in the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR)- 2007 for increasing the price of land for setting up industries in the state.

"State government is contemplating revision in the concessional rate available to industries according to the IPR-2007," CMD of Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd, G Mathivathanan told reporters.

Stating that the SWCLC resolved to divide the category of land into urban and rural, Mathivathnan said earlier according to the IPR-2007 there were four types of land for industrial use -- highly urbanised, rural, semi-urbanised and no industry area.

"The SWCLC also resolved that companies interested in setting up industries will get land as per the bench mark value instead of getting concession," he said.

He said that committee delegated upon giving special concession to the industries interested to set up units linked to social infrastracture projects like power, health and education. The committee also discussed promotion of IT and ITES projects


"The Chief Secretary has asked IPICOL to study the policies of certain states including Karnataka for promotion if IT and ITES projects in the state," Mathivathanan said.
