Cuttack: The state High Court on Friday asked the state government to file details as to what actions have been taken with reference to a police complaint filed in Pipili police station of Puri district in which a 15-year-old boy was kidnapped and the abductors had allegedly tonsured the boy in presence of policemen.

Priyaranjan Das of Dandamukundapur village had filed a writ seeking justice for his minor son Ayashkanta, who was allegedly kidnapped on July 24 by some influential persons who tortured him in presence of policemen and the police refused to register a case in this regard although a written complaint was filed.

Taking up the writ for adjudication on the day, Justice Indrajeet Mahanty issued notices to the government asking it to file the counters within one week.

Alleging that the entire administration was trying to shield the accused, the petitioner had appended the State DGP, home secretary, Puri collector, Puri SP and Pipili police station inspector as respondents in the case.

An FIR was lodged with the local police station naming at least five persons.

The petitioner said the persons named in the FIR were nurturing a grudge against him over an earlier issue.
