Bhubaneswar: In a bid to avoid any further untoward incident in the naxal hit areas, the state government on Sunday issued special security guidelines for the legislators, bureaucrats and common men residing in the Maoist hit areas.

After bowing down before the Maoists in the recent Collector abduction case, the state government has framed these guidelines and has asked to follow it strictly.

The guideline says that the security arrangements for the tours and travels of the MPs and MLAs of the red corridors would be done according to the blue book. Public meetings should be held with prior suggestions of the Superintendent of Police of the concerned district. Other than the special security, there must be preplanned arrangements to face any kind of emergency like situations. The MPs and MLAs will be provided with two PSOs who will be accompanying them during their visit to the interior areas. Apart from this, they are advised to avoid the use of any official vehicles and not to declare early about their tour plans. They should avoid traveling during night and in case of emergency, the PSO would inform the nearest police station or the SP.

Same guide lines are also devised for the bureaucrats and the public residing in those areas.
