Puri: When the concern over security chinks in world famous Srimandir is raging minds of denizens, police Wednesday have arrested a minor boy for his involvement in a loot incident at the Ram Mandir.

The minor has been arrested from Brahmagiri and a sum of Rs16,361 and a mobile were confiscated from him.

The boy is suspected to be involved in the incidents of burglary at Ram Mandir near Dakshin Dwara (South Gate) and Suar Mahasuar Nijog's Annadan Atika near Koili Baikuntha.

“He has confessed  to his involvement in the loot incident at both the places. But the details given are at variance as at times he talks about involvement of  two others,” said an investigating officer and added that police is looking into the variance in statements and is trying to co-relate the sequence of crime.

Meanwhile, senior servitors were up in arms over the lax safety and security in the temple. They blamed the temple administration for the theft spree.
