Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: In a bid to tackle dengue menace, which is spreading alarmingly in the State, the government will open a special Out Patient Department (OPD) at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack to deal with the vector borne disease in a better way. The department, which is scheduled to be inaugurated by Health Minister Damodar Rout today, will provide service round the clock.
 
According to government sources the number of patients in the State has reached 532 while the disease has already spread its to at least 15 districts of Odisha. The worst affected is Cuttack where 348 people have been tested positive for dengue, sources added. As many as 57 blood samples were examined positive for the disease on Friday.
 
At least 112 patients were admitted to the premier health institute two days back while five of them were undergoing treatment at the ICU. However, unexpected rise in cases has given headache to the medical authorities as well as the health department.
