Bhubaneswar: The Congress today targeted the Speaker of the Odisha Assembly alleging that the House is not being run properly. During zero hour, senior Congress leader and Bolangir MLA Narasingha Mishra targeted the Speaker and accused him of failing to control the legislators.

Mishra also alleged that State Ministers are not giving relevant answers to the questions. Another Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja also expressed his displeasure over the House proceedings.

"Rules have been framed in the Constitution on how the House should be run. I have been observing that Assembly is not being run properly that's why I raised the issue," said the Bolangir MLA.

On the other hand, BJP MLAs too raised similar concerns.

"Some MLAs try to dominate with their speech, but that's not possible as all the MLAs are governed by the same rules," BJP leader Bishnu Sethi said.

Responding to the allegations, Amar Satpathy said that a decision regarding time duration allocated for discussions will be taken in an all-party meeting soon.

"Proper implementation of rules, procedure and stipulation of time duration for speeches will ensure smooth running of the House," Satpathy said.
