Bhubaneswar: While 10-year-old boy, Pituna Patra, injured seriously due to explosion of crackers in a pick-up van on Wednesday at Kujang died today due to born injuries, the incident has sparked off a war of words among three MLAs of the ruling BJD. The war had actually began on Wednesday itself when the disgraced MLA Damodar Rout accused that Barabti-Cuttack MLA and trade union leader Devashis Samantray should be held responsible for the unfortunate incident in which nine persons were injured seriously.

Addressing media persons Devashis today advised Damodar not to indulge in cheap politics as it was purely an accident and there should be no politics over injured persons. The crackers in fact were being transported to Paradip to be used during the celebrations of an union headed by Devashish. Damodar, a sworn enemy of Devashis and Jagatsinghpur MLA Bishnu Dash immediately jumped into the fire and attacked both the leaders. Bishnu Dash who was present during the pres conference without naming Damodar Rout said that the incident was masterminded by one MLA to malign their images.

When contacted Damodar Rout today in his reaction to the accusations said that he was prepared to face any kind of inquiry if it was conspiracy hatched by him and  he was the mastermind behind the incident. Damodar claimed that the truth would be out if there was a judicial probe.
