In a heart-warming display of devotion and family love, two sons-in-law fulfilled their ailing father-in-law’s long-cherished wish to have the darshan of Lord Jagannath at Puri on Sunday. The emotional moment unfolded near the Singhadwara of the Puri Srimandir, drawing the attention of locals and pilgrims.
The elderly man, suffering from a brain tumour and severe visual impairment, had been expressing a strong desire to visit Mahaprabhu despite his deteriorating condition. According to family members, his health had declined rapidly in recent months, leaving him reliant on a nasal feeding tube and requiring bandages on his hands and head.
Determined to honour his wish, his two sons-in-law gently placed him in a wheelchair and travelled to Puri Srimandir. As they rolled him towards the Lions Gate, the frail man joined his hands in reverence, fulfilling what may be one of his final spiritual desires.

"He has a brain tumour and he had a desire to seek darshan of Lord Jagannath, so that's why just to fulfil his desire, we have brought him here, feeling very happy," said Suresh Mohanty.
A Gesture of Love and Devotion
Eyewitnesses described the moment as deeply touching, symbolising not just faith in Lord Jagannath but also the profound respect and affection the younger generation showed towards their elders.
