Bhubaneswar: What Somnath Parida had been telling to police and media on his wife’s murder were wrong. It was confirmed by the polygraph test conducted on him by the forensic team which submitted its report to the commissionerate police on Wednesday.
 
“Somnath has given wrong answers to all questions on murder” DCP Nitinjeet Sing informed media after receiving the forensic report. Out of 16 vital questions related to the crime, 12 answers were given wrong, the report confirmed. It will help in expediting the investigation process, Singh added.
 
When asked about the requirement of more scientific test, DCP said that police will discuss with the scientific team in this regard.
 
Prior to the lie detection test, Parida, who is alleged to be the killer of his wife Ushashree Parida, had been saying that he did not kill her, but only he chopped the body into pieces after she (Ushashree) committed suicide.  He also told police during interrogation that he had stored the body parts to take these to Siridi.
 
Police had called his son Lalit and Lekha Parida from abroad, and recorded their statements.  Police are likely to question maid of the ex-army doctor today.
