Berhampur: Noted social activist and physician Dr K S N Rao passed away here on Friday following prolonged illness.

He was 91 and is survived by two sons and three daughters, family sources said. Rao was suffering from old-age related ailments for the last couple of months after which he died at a private nursing home here, they said. A host of dignitaries including former union minister Chandra Sekhar Sahu visited his residence at Prem Nagar area to pay tribute to the departed soul.Rao, the founder president of RED Cross Blind School, Helen Keler Deaf and Dumb School here, had first started a private nursing home in Berhampur.
