Bhubaneswar: It is now testing time for the families of six class X students who are reportedly missing since Saturday. As per reports, five children from Junglepadu village in Gajapati district and a girl student from Keonjhar district are untraceable for the past 24 hours.

The parents of the students from Gajapati district suspect that the children, who are students of different schools, might have moved to the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Sources said that all the five students had left their respective homes for school but did not return till late night yesterday.

Senior police officials informed that steps are being taken to trace the missing students.

In Keonjhar, a girl student studying in Class X has been missing from the school premises. It is suspected that the girl might have committed suicide as a handwritten note has been recovered from her bag.

As per reports, the girl was mentally disturbed as she was pulled up by her father for not studying.

“The student had gone to her house during lunch break. Only after her parents came looking for her, we launched a search operation and informed police,” said Ravindra Barik, headmaster of Trilochanpur Ashram School.

“She used to sleep most of the time; so, I only asked her to study. She was my only child and she is missing,” said Srikant, father of the missing girl student.
