Bhubaneswar: Though rain water flowing two feet above Junagah bridge over Hati river in Kalahandi district since yesterday receded this morning normalizing communication, the situation still remains grim in many rivers. While Bansadhara water at Kashinagar was flowing above warning level of 53.60 metre, water level at Gunupur was flowing below warning level at 52.25 metre.

Similarly following the rise of water level of river Mahanadi, residents of downstream areas have been asked to remain alert. According to information received from control room, water at Munduli Barrage stood at 88.05 metre while the danger level is 97.25 metre. Similarly the level stood at 21.30 metre at Jobra in Cuttack, which is close to danger level of 21.94 metre.

Since tributaries of Mahanadi river are in spate in the upper areas, concerned collectors of the districts have been asked to remain vigilant.

Water level of several other rivers in the state including Devi, Kushabhadra, and Suvernarekha are reportedly rising.  The water level of Baitarani at Akhuapada remained at 17.81 metre while the danger level is 17.83 metre.
